Prima Food International specializes in contract packaging, also known as co-packing. We strive to fill the gap between product conception and the co-packer that requires hundreds of gallons as a minimum.
Our staff includes a master food technologist experienced in product development and production, a certified better process control authority, and two certified food managers, as well as experienced production personnel.
Product Development
Our in-house lab can analyze your product and formula (recipe) to determine if it is feasible for our production. We are limited to acid and acidified foods. Prior to assisting you with these steps, a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in enacted.
After completing the non-disclosure, we ask that you provide your recipe to us in precise measurements. If you typically use teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, etc. state if they are level or heaping, whether ingredients are wet or dry and list any brand names of ingredients if these are critical to the outcome. As part of our process, we weigh each ingredient according to its measurements for production formulas. The step by step procedure you follow to make your product is also important. Think of a recipe in a cookbook and the information it gives.
We also need a sample of your product as your make it. This allows us to test your product and establish the guidelines for the production information and sample, we can then begin the development process. This includes creating a production formula and procedure, establishing the specifications for your product and a shelf-life study. Lab samples are provided for your examination and approval before a large batch of your product will be made.
